Hat Sizing
Many factors affect the fit of a hat and how it sits on a head.
Factors affecting the fit of a hat that are related to the hat itself include:
- the style of the hat
- the materials from which the hat is made
- the elasticity of the material and stitching
Factors affecting the fit of a hat that are related to the wearer include:
- the circumference of the head
- the shape of the head
- the amount of hair and the hairstyle
- the level of snugness preferred
All the hats from this shop are made with a multi-fibre method. Each unique combination of fibres, style and stitching creates a fabric with varying elasticity and thickness. Some hats are very elastic and can accommodate heads across a few sizes.
To measure your head, use a tape measure or a length of string that you can hold up to a tape measure. Place the tape or string around your head about 1 cm (1/2 inch) above your ears, across the mid-forehead, completely circling your head. Hold the tape firmly, but not too tightly.
